Project Management

Multi-Trade Project Management

Tradecast Building Services provides project management for post-completion remedial works on new-build residential developments. We are appointed to coordinate repair packages involving multiple trades following instruction from housebuilder customer care teams.

This allows housebuilder customer care teams to appoint a single contractor to coordinate multiple trades.

Coordinating Multiple Trades

Many post-completion issues require input from more than one trade. Tradecast manages this coordination in-house, scheduling and sequencing works so that repairs can be completed efficiently within occupied homes.

By managing trade interfaces and access requirements, Tradecast reduces the need for repeated visits and simplifies delivery across individual plots or wider developments.

A Managed Approach in Occupied Homes

Tradecast regularly operates in live residential environments following handover. Access, sequencing and on-site activity are managed as part of the overall repair package, allowing works to progress in an organised and controlled manner.

Repairs are assessed and completed in line with housebuilder instructions and applicable NHBC standards where relevant, with outcomes reflecting the condition and age of existing materials and finishes.

A Practical Management Model

Project management at Tradecast is focused on coordination and delivery rather than excessive process. The aim is to resolve identified post-completion issues in a proportionate, cost-aware way, aligned with the expectations of national housebuilders and their customer care teams.

Our 1989 Wimpey timber framed house has leaked since it was 5 years old. Wind and rain on the front of the house caused water penetration. This leaked into the ceilings of the front porch and dining room, which both extend beyond the main roof, under a hip roof. I have lost count of the number of NHBC and insurance assessors, builders and roofers who have said they would fix the problem. The leadwork was replaced at least three times and the corner with the quoin stones was removed and rebuilt. The brickwork was painted with silicone "sealant" twice and the windows replaced. The main roof was replaced and the hip roof replaced twice. Nothing fixed the leak.

After the winter storms of 2025/26 we faced further water damage. I contacted Tradecast (who respond very quickly by phone or email). Joseph Bryce, the general manager, came out to inspect the house and said that the cavity tray above the porch and the dining room was either damaged or not fitted.

He sent a quote to cut several rows of bricks out from under the windows and fit new cavity trays then make the wall good again. He also included the cost of repairing the plasterboard ceiling which had been badly damaged. This quote was quite a bit more expensive than that of another builder but they did not mention cavity trays, so I went with Tradecast and I am really glad I did.

Tradecast were able to start work within a fortnight and actually did the external works while we were away on a winter holiday. When we returned I was amazed to see that the repair was almost invisible. The brick and cement works were a perfect match. The internal joinery, plaster work and painting were then carried out by very tidy, polite and skilled tradesmen and the result is also an invisible repair with absolutely no internal mess.

We have had several storms since the repair and so far there is absolutely no sign of water penetration. Joseph then came and visited to check we were happy with the job before payment was requested. I have no hesitation in recommending Tradecast on the following criteria:

Ease of contact/communication *****
Ability to identify then solve the problem *****
Time it took to start the job *****
Time it took to complete the job *****
Quality of workmanship *****
Attitude of tradesmen *****
Tidiness during and after the works *****
